waste-water-treatment-unit.jpg

In August the first Water Treatment System will arrive in Australia for use on one of the Woodside Petroleum's major projects. The system can be used onshore and offshore and is able to process oil-contaminated brines, seawater, surfactants, freshwater, and surface-generated water. The mechanical separation system generates three distinct waste streams: dried solids, oil, and water.

The oil can be returned to the mud system, and the cleaned water can be discharged if allowed by local permits.
